Patti's
first interest in writing occurred with the joining
of 'creative writing classes' in Margate in 1991.
Her first story was sold to BEST magazine in January
of 1993, after which many more published stories
soon followed in various magazines. Patti was subsequently
asked to do the Adult Education Teaching Diploma
with a view to teaching for the University of Kent.
This she did at many locations, only stopping when
the commercial working commitments became too heavy
for her to continue. She does, however still tutor
private groups as and when her time allows.
CURRENT
CAREER
Patti writes regular fiction stories
for MY WEEKLY, WOMAN'S WEEKLY AND PEOPLES FRIEND
- she has also had contributions to BEST, BELLA
and WEEKLY NEWS published. She occasionally writes
features that are currently topical and informative.
These have included articles on Princess Diana,
the Rochester Dickens Festival, Hever Castle and
Mouth and Foot Painters. Patti has also written,
a well received, serial in eight parts for PEOPLE'S
FRIEND which totalled approx. 60,000 words. Stories
have also been published under the names of Tricia
Holden and Helen Tyndall.
PERSONAL
Patti is a mother of 4 and a grandmother
of 12 and therefore is well versed in the antics
of youngsters growing up - on which her successful
'CHARLIE'S WORLD' series is based. Patti lives and
writes from her Minnis Bay study overlooking the
sea on the East coast of Kent.
